Horizontal half-table

Horizontal sofas are rarely used. In the category of multifunctional sleeping furniture, the good old sofa beds and sofa beds are far more popular. However, half-size sofas have many advantages, which are discussed below.

Horizontal sofa beds for small flats

Although semi-couch beds do not allow their use when folded (unlike sofas), they do offer greater comfort when sleeping, as their construction assumes the use of a normal mattress.

They also have the added advantage that, when folded, they take up a fraction of the space taken up when unfolded. This allows the space thus freed up to be used at will during the day. However, it is important to equip the flat in which the half-couch is located with furniture that is easy to move (i.e. lightweight or on castors). This way, when it's time to sleep, you will be able to move it easily and thus make room for the bed.

Horizontal semi-cots - comparison with the vertical version

Although the principle is the same, the vertical version of half-cotches has one advantage - it folds along the longer side so that it does not almost reach the ceiling. A built-in unit containing a 140x200 cm horizontal half-cotton, for example, will be approximately 160-165 cm high. In the case of a vertical half-size sofa bed with a mattress of the same dimensions, the built-in height will be approximately 220 cm.

As for the built-in depth, in both cases it is 40-45 cm, which is less than a wardrobe with a standard depth of 60 cm would occupy.
