In small bathrooms, it is crucial to utilise every available space - including that under the washbasin. The two most common solutions in this case are standing or wall cabinets. This not only gives you storage space, but also solves the problem of unsightly pipes and traps. An additional advantage of wall-hung cabinets under the washbasin is the easy access to the floor underneath. This allows you to vacuum or wash it without any problems.

When choosing a wall-mounted cabinet for your washbasin, there are a few key aspects to consider:

Think about the washbasin first. The wall-hung cabinet should match the size of the washbasin. In practice, this means that you should choose the type of basin (overlay, inset or countertop) before buying the cabinet itself. The order of decision is important here, because each type of basin implies a different width of the cabinet that will go underneath.
Choose a flat siphon. The siphon is an element that we cannot ignore, but on the other hand, it usually takes up a lot of space and makes it difficult to use the shelf or drawer located in the cabinet directly under the washbasin. The solution is a flat siphon, which takes up a minimum of space and does not interfere so much with the space under the washbasin.
The height at which you hang the cabinet. The cabinet should be at such a height that the wash basin is 80-90 cm off the ground when installed. This brings us back to the first point - we need to know the height of the wash basin in order to accurately determine the height at which to install the cabinet.

Think about your interior design. Wall-mounted washbasin cabinets are usually fitted with shelves or drawers. How much space is this in practice? The average depth of a wall cabinet in a bathroom is around 30 cm. This means that you need a narrow cabinet 35 cm wide and 100 cm high or a wide cabinet (90 cm wide) 36 cm high to get 0.1 m3 of volume. Remember to also include space for a laundry basket in this calculation.
