How much space do four-door wardrobes take up?

If you are planning the layout of your bedroom or hallway, make an initial assumption that your wardrobe will take up a rectangle of 200 x 60 cm on the floor. The individual models vary slightly in width, but it is always around 200 cm. Also, the standard depth for this type of furniture is 60 cm - assuming this value, you can be sure that you will have the largest choice of models. Cabinets with a depth of 45 and 50 cm are much less popular, and consequently the choice is also smaller.

Four-door wardrobes for bedrooms

Four-door wardrobes are very often placed in the bedroom, acting as a wardrobe. Thanks to their large capacity, they allow comfortable storage of clothes, shoes, bedding or accessories, which makes them an ideal choice as long as we have enough space to use in the bedroom. Four doors provide easy access to every part of the wardrobe, making it easy to organise and tidy. The interior of such wardrobes is usually divided into four sections, resulting from the design of the wardrobe itself - a space with hanger rods, shelves for folded clothes and drawers for small accessories. Some models also offer additional amenities, such as mirrored fronts, which brighten and optically enlarge the bedroom while helping with daily rituals. Internal lighting is a common feature in modern four-door wardrobes, which of course adds to the convenience.

What style of four-door wardrobe should I choose?

The wardrobe should harmonise with the style in which the bedroom is decorated. The most common styles are: rustic, Scandinavian, modern and classic.

An example of the rustic style is the four-door wardrobe included in the Provance collection. It is characterised by the use of natural, chamfered wood painted white so as to emphasise the unique structure of the wood. The overall effect is deliberately imperfect, but at the same time cosy and slightly romantic.

In the Sophie collection, on the other hand, you will find a four-door wardrobe in the style of modern yet elegant minimalism. It features ecru-coloured fronts, some of which have been covered with a mirror. Its entire simple body has been enlivened with milled drawer fronts and gold detailing.

The Velvet wardrobe, on the other hand, is a modern form using a classic material - as it is made of solid oak in a deep, honey shade.

How to arrange the interior of a four-door wardrobe

For design reasons, each four-door wardrobe has three or four sections inside. Usually one of them contains a clothes rail - before purchasing a wardrobe it is worth to consider whether a single rail will be sufficient, and whether it will not be necessary to add a second one.

Another indispensable element of a wardrobe are the shelves, usually occupying one or two sections of the wardrobe. These usually come in quantities of four (for 200-220 cm high wardrobes). The whole may be supplemented with drawers, located in the lower part of the wardrobe.

Before purchasing a wardrobe, it is advisable to check the exact layout of the wardrobe and the arrangement of the individual components. Too little distance between clothes rails, for example, may prove to be a problem with longer dresses or coats.
